HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid honours 25 Government Employees

Recognition for Dubai’s ‘Unsung Heroes’

Dubai: 14 May, 2007 - His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, today honoured 25 government employees for their dedication and commitment.

Presenting the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) Awards, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed commended these individuals who have been keen not only on developing their own skills and talents but are personally motivated to serve their organisations to the best of their ability.

The 25 employees were selected on the basis of their contribution to the overall performance of the departments.

The award winners are:

Nasser Mohamed Dad - Sergeant with Dubai Police: For his clean performance record with 17 years of service and for upholding the law of the land.

Sayed Sulaiman Makhdoom - Dubai Municipality: Worker known for being cooperative with his colleagues and commitment to his duty.

Najiba Hassan Al Houseni - Messenger at the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department: A productive and committed worker. Although physically challenged, she received training in basic computer skills at “TAMKEEN” centre and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies.

Noor Al Haq Ashraf - Scientific Book Auditor at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department: For the last 21 years, he has been responsible for the “Hijri” calendars in addition to setting prayer timings.

Abdulla Ali Amiri - Senior Plumber, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA): Despite being 60-years old, the UAE national has been putting in long hours for the past 32 years.

Shuaib Mohamad Al Awadhi - Graves Services Supervisor with Dubai Municipality: He has been working sincerely for the past 16 years and is known for his dedication.

Amna Salem Yaqoot - Messenger in the Department of Health and Medical Services: She graduated from the Care and Rehabilitation centre for the Handicapped and is now completing her studies.

Ahmad Hussain Saleh - Taxi Driver at the Roads and Transport Authority: He achieved 61 per cent higher revenue than his peers with less traffic violations.

Mohamed Hassan Ghareeb - Information Administrator at Dubai Municipality: Though visually impaired, his memory is phenomenal, as he can recall most of the employee's numbers without error.

Khadija Al Haj Al Maidor - Psychology Researcher in Public Prosecution in Dubai: She is excellent in organising cultural activities for children and offering social counselling.

Ahmad Ali Essa - Driver at Dubai Land Department: He always volunteers to help others and has always offered to drive old people home.

Sakina Abas Ali - Customer Service Officer at the Department of Civil Aviation: For her valuable help in the arrest of a criminal gang carrying false passports.

Saleh Musaad Al Amari - Senior Officer at Dubai Police: He is a role model for other employees by adhering to the attendance system. He always comes an hour early and leaves late.

Juliette Shool - Nurse at Al Wasl Hospital
: For more than 20 years she has been dealing with mothers and children in a friendly, loving and caring manner.

Abu Alssaoud Abdulaziz - Parking Attendant with the Roads and Transport Authority: He is committed to his work and does overtime regularly.

Abdulla Mohammed Abdelraheem - Customer Service Coordinator at Department of Economic Development: He has a degree from the Higher Colleges of Technology and participates in local and international tournaments for people with special needs.

Abdulla Al Hamadi - Driver at Dubai Ports, Customs and Freezone Corporation: A UAE national, he has been working for the department for 22 years and has maintained good relations with the management and his colleagues.

Idrees Ali Karaj - Messenger at Dubai Ports, Customs and Freezone Corporation: Considered a role model due to his high rate of productivity and involvement in formal and informal activities.

Abdulla Mohamad Abdulfatah - Administrative Writer at Dubai Courts: Has a bachelor’s degree in Law, and is known for his cooperation and high productivity for the past 32 years.

Mohamad Ansar Noor - Cruise "Abra" Sailor at Roads and Transport Authority: He is known for his honesty and integrity and has a clear service record.

Naji Mohamad Al Haidhani - Alternate Wireless Operator with Dubai police: For 31 years he has worked in shifts and has a clean service record.

Sultana Abdulla Ahmad - works at the Heritage Village: She is responsible for cleaning the public facilities and mosques besides offering hospitality services for guests and visitors. She is committed to working even during public holidays.

Abdulla Ahmad Mijren - Sergeant at the Department of Civil Aviation: He has been working for 15 years and always helps in times of crises.

Salem Khalfan Al Hataly - Messenger at Dubai Autism Centre: He always follows up and ensures the accuracy of his work and has positive relationships with his colleagues.

Mohamad Nazir Botakhan - Farmer at Dubai Municipality: In his 28 years, he has never been absent from work, excellent in his job and his behaviour and has maintained a clean career record.

Iman Khadem Bin Touq Al Marri, Executive, Dubai Water and Electricity Authority. Hard worker and articulate who deal with customers with total care and respect.
